The international community is capable of immense progress when we all work towards the same goal. The goal we share for the oceans, vast carbon and biodiversity sinks, is clear. Let’s apply this energy to negotiations on plastics, overfishing, and the seabed. Today in New York, together with Norway and Palau, we are launching a call to all coastal and oceanic states for sustainable ocean management. I call on all our partners for collective mobilization. In a few months, France will host the next United Nations Ocean Conference in Nice. Nice will be an exceptional place of celebration for all ocean actors, but it must also, and above all, be a place of concrete commitments. The Nice Action Plan for the Ocean, which we are currently building, will be our roadmap for the coming years. It must be ambitious, more so than ever. See you in Nice!
