I have just spoken with President @ZelenskyyUa. Now more than ever, we must remember that Europe’s security, freedom, and future are closely tied to Ukraine’s fate. That is why, together with our partners, we continue to support the Ukrainian people. We reaffirmed this determination last Thursday at the meeting of the Coalition of the Willing, which I co-chaired with Prime Minister Starmer. The meeting brought together 30 heads of state and government, as well as, for the first time, representatives from the United States. Together, we are increasing pressure on Russia to obtain an unconditional ceasefire and the opening of negotiations for a just and lasting peace. In this regard, I welcome the adoption this morning by the European Union of an unprecedented new package of sanctions against Russia. Russian attacks must stop immediately. In hardship and in hope, France stands — and will always stand — with Ukraine.
